Mistinguett at Last

The marvellous Mistinguett is finally included in a major publication on film history — and I could not be happier. In many ways, this moment sits at the heart of the work I have been doing for years: trying to bring women performers, popular entertainers, and overlooked screen histories back into visibility.

This publication also marks a first for me, and I am especially pleased to be joining such a stellar constellation of feminist scholars and writers. It is a reminder of how much feminist film history has expanded, and of the importance of continuing to ask whose stories remain absent from our histories of cinema and performance.
